What are the services provided by your company, and how do you ensure you are providing the best solution for your clients?

Our functional ‘sweet spot’ is driving measurable business improvements in the functional areas of R&D and Commercial. We provide a wide range of services and tailored, best-practices driven offerings, centered around the strategic and operational use of industry-leading software platforms, such as Veeva and Salesforce. This includes Veeva Services to design and provide implementation support for Veeva Commercial, Development, and Data cloud solutions, Data Services & Insights to select, organize, and visualize data to make sound business decisions, Learning Services to empower continued learning for users across all business units, as well as Sales and Marketing Operations support services. We leverage our strong and unique partnership with Veeva and other partners, as well as our vast industry experience, to ensure we are providing the best experience for our clients, while utilizing proven, best-practice methods, tools, and skills.

What is the vision for Conexus?

Our vision is to become a primary, market-leading business advisory, data, and technology services partner for small and mid-size life sciences companies by driving key business function improvement resulting in measurable business value for our clients.

Your company deals exclusively with the Life Sciences industry, what are the most challenging industry issues your clients are facing today and in the future?

At a strategic level, the industry is focused on broad issues such as –

1) Policy changes related to pricing/reimbursement.

2) Digital spending efficiency.

3) New models for care delivery.

4) Regulatory changes (e.g., Safety).

5) Value-based pricing agreements.

6) Data breaches and other cybersecurity vulnerabilities.

While our clients are certainly facing these strategic issues, there are an equally important set of more tactical, operational issues that are challenging them. These include –

1) Data Optimization – Managing the volumes of disparate internal and external data to make sound and fast business decisions.

2) Optimizing Solution Spend – technology.

3) HCP/Patient Reach – Improving the reach to HCPs and patients for better outcomes.

4) Best Data – Selecting and implementing the most appropriate industry, syndicated dataset(s) to support product launch.

5) Support Model – Ensuring the right and most cost-effective technology support approach to provide a positive end-user experience.

What are your future endeavours, how are you preparing to meet your vision?

We will achieve our vision by continuing to build-out our core service areas including Veeva Services (Commercial, Development, and Data Cloud), Data Services and Insights, Sales and Marketing Operations Services, and Learning Services. This expansion will include additional ‘on-site’ resources who are experts with the Veeva and Salesforce platforms and client management/help desk support functions as well as ‘off-shore’ resources who can provide a more competitive price-point for all service delivery resources. Additionally, we will further develop a set of Conexus custom solutions that support key Sales Operations capabilities (e.g., roster management, incentive compensation, etc.) that can be integrated with the Veeva platform to provide a more holistic Sales & Marketing solution for clients. Finally, we will seek additional partnerships that will allow us to better cover the end-to-end commercial and R&D processes, where we do not have a custom solution as well as utilize new leading-edge technology tools (e.g., AI/ML within analytics) to enhance our offerings. Our strategy also includes a global expansion to be able to support EU-based clients and/or operations for help desk and client management services.

Can you brief us about the initial startup of the company, and the successful growth of your company so far?

Conexus was founded in 2016 by Akshay Kapadia, with the goal of providing outsourced commercial operations for pharmaceutical and life sciences companies. With 30+ years of industry experience, Kapadia strategically formed a diverse and experienced leadership team to help position Conexus as a premiere, market-leading services partner. Through the years, we have expanded our core services and offerings to better serve our clients and their needs. With our solid foundation in place, we’ve experienced consistent and impressive year-over-year growth while adding numerous, new colleagues to the Conexus family.

We wish to spotlight the founder and the team which accompanies in the growth of Conexus.

The Conexus leadership team boasts close to 100 years of collective industry, process, and technology experience. Along with Akshay as CEO, Anthony, Ernie, Sandy, and Sunitha lead our practice areas and meticulously deliver cutting- edge solutions tailored to meet the evolving needs of our customers and the life science sector.

Akshay Kapadia – Founder & CEO built his career by delivering effective sales and marketing support systems for pharmaceutical and life science companies. Prior to launching Conexus, he held senior leadership positions at inVentiv Health, Accenture, Octagon Research Solutions, Cegedim, and Dendrite International. Akshay founded Conexus with a vision to create a nimble, high-quality, cost-effective outsource for the commercial operations of small/mid pharma and life science firms. Akshay has been recognized as a “Veeva Hero” for his innovative implementations and support of Veeva’s market-leading CRM and data management systems. Akshay received a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the City University of New York and a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science.

Anthony Bianciella – Practice Lead, Learning Services, has spent much of his career marketing businesses in the life sciences space in the US and in several countries around the world. His experience spans marketing strategy, digital content creation, and product marketing for software and service-based solutions. Anthony has a Master’s of Science in Computer Science from Steven’s Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers College of Engineering, which has provided him with a solid technical foundation and enables him to connect with the technical side of marketing.

Ernie Payne – Vice President, Client Services began a 20+ year career in Commercial Operations after six years in the US Army as a Combat Engineer.  While gaining valuable experience in position of increasing responsibility, Ernie has achieved success at every level.  So much so, that he has become a “go to” person in the industry.  This graduate of Bloomsburg University has deep understanding of client needs as well as industry offerings have allowed him to expand his role beyond operations and into Business Development.

Sandy Tammisetty – Practice Lead, Veeva Services is a truly versatile technologist with a focus on client’ sales operations processes and needs. She has 10+ years of professional experience, the last four of which were spent supporting commercial divisions of pharma and life sciences companies. She graduated from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, India and has a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Monmouth University, West Long Branch, NJ.  Her education and work experience provide her with true data management, Veeva configuration, and Veeva Vault administration expertise. She is another of Conexus’ fierce working moms.

Sunitha Venkat – Practice Lead, Data Services & Insights specializes in translating complex business questions into actionable insights. She has over 20 years of professional software engineering experience; the most recent ten years of which were spent in the pharma and life science sectors in data engineering specializing in business insights. Before joining Conexus, Sunitha was the Director of Business Insights for Ashfield Health. She is graduate of Dr. M.G.R. Educational Research Institute University in Chennai, India. She is a fierce team player, business partner, and proud working mom.
